Features to evaluate before subscribing

The core features are a public booking page, real availability, automatic confirmations and reminders. Beyond these, consider staff scheduling, service-specific durations, client records and the ability to reschedule without phoning.

Check whether the system offers a free plan or trial so you can test the workflow with real bookings before committing.

Pricing and hidden costs

Look for a flat monthly subscription rather than a per-booking commission. SMS reminders are often sold as prepaid credits, so understand the credit prices and how many reminders a typical booking will use.

Check whether the features you need are available on the entry-level plan or whether you need to upgrade. The cheapest plan that meets your needs is usually the right starting point.

Setup: services, staff and availability

Before launching, enter all your services with accurate durations and prices. Set up each staff member with their working hours, time off and the services they deliver.

Block holidays and other closures so customers cannot book during periods when the business is not operating. This prevents the most common source of booking errors.

Configure confirmations and reminders

Set up email confirmations to include all the details a customer needs: service, date, time, location and preparation instructions. If you use SMS reminders, decide on the timing: typically a day before and optionally on the morning of the appointment.

Include a manage-booking link in every confirmation and reminder so customers can reschedule or cancel without phoning.

Test the full customer journey

Complete a test booking from the customer side on a phone. Check that the confirmation email arrives, the SMS reminder is scheduled correctly and the manage link opens the right page.

Test rescheduling and cancellation to confirm the diary updates correctly and the released slot becomes available for other customers.

Launch and monitor

Share your booking link on your website, social profiles and in your email signature. Monitor the first few weeks for any issues: bookings that do not appear, confirmation emails that do not arrive or customers reporting confusion.

Ask the first few customers who book online about their experience. Small friction points are easy to fix before they affect more bookings.
